Matt Orr is a facilitator, non-profit professional, writer, and former teacher. His interest in facilitation began in graduate school in 2012 while enrolled in courses on the subject, and he has since gone on to plan and facilitate many events for a diverse set of
partners spanning six countries: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Germany, Norway, Thailand, and the United States. He also has a keen interest in organizing virtual communities and events,
since his day job as Digital Community Manager for The Asia Foundation, a non-profit international development organization committed to improving lives across a dynamic and
developing Asia, affords him the opportunity to do that on a daily basis. More broadly he has over a decade of experience working with non-profits, from a large international organization to small community development organizations, public and private educational institutions, and private groups.
Born in Texarkana, Texas, he was raised there, and educated at the University of North
Texas in Denton and the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. Matt now lives in Berlin,
Germany on a loud street and plays softball at least once a week at an abandoned airport.
